Please Consider Joining The Society
The aim of the society is to promote and encourage the historical study of the town of Tewkesbury and district.
Our 'season' runs from September each year with meetings held until the following May. Membership is renewable from 1st September each year. Annual Membership is £5 per person.
Our current projects include: indexing significant items from the Tewkesbury Register newspaper (and other sources), Oral History (recording interviews with local people), and Tewkesbury men in the First World War. The society has a significant collection of Tewkesbury related information, known as the Woodard Database. It can be freely consulted at the Town Library and THS Members can also view this database online using 'Google Documents'.
Each year we publish a Bulletin of written articles relating to Tewkesbury - an index to the Bulletins is on this website. We have also published a number of themed books about Tewkesbury. All can be purchased at discounted rates for THS Members.
A programme of illustrated talks is held in the Methodist Church, usually from September to May at 7.45 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month - entry for THS Members is at a discounted rate.
