Our preferred method of payment, especially for overseas customers, (but of course open to UK customers as well), is to use the renowned international payment service PayPal (click on the link for details of their service).
If you are a UK customer and you do not wish to use PayPal, then you can pay by cheque, payable to T.H.S.
If you are a non-UK customer and you do not wish to use PayPal, then there are three methods of payment available.
1. Sterling travellers' cheques made payable to T.H.S. (Please make sure that you sign it both top & bottom.)
2. A cheque drawn in UK £ Sterling.
3. A cheque drawn in your own non-UK currency.
However, the society incurs bank charges if the cheque is not in £ Sterling.
If you wish to pay in a foreign currency please add the equivalent of £5 sterling to cover our additional costs.
The prices shown below all include postage and packaging.
To post outside of the UK we will use air-mail unless otherwise directed. Surface mail is cheaper but much slower - reductions to air-mail charges will be applied if surface mail is requested.
For some of our publications, we now give you the option of having a digital copy rather than the traditional printed book. The digital copy will be in the form of a PDF File (Adobe Portable Document Format). If you do not already have a copy of Acrobat Reader installed on your computer, you can download it free of charge from Adobe Systems' website. Click on the following button to download Acrobat Reader.
As PDF Files are large files we will send them to you via PodMail. This is a free email service created by Zslide which allows the transfer of large files that normal email processes cannot cope with. To receive and send PodMail you need to install PodMail software on your computer. A free download is available at Zslide's PodMail website www.podmailing.com along with full instructions on the use of PodMail. (Podmail will work with both dial-up internet accounts and broadband, but of course broadband users will experience much faster download times. If you experience problems receiving or sending PodMail, you may wish to try temporarily turning off your firewall and spam filters. To download Podmails that you receive we recommend you use the 'Download from your browser' option rather than the other two options that they offer.)
If this sounds a little daunting to you, here are the comments of one of our PDF/PodMail using members:
"It was very easy to do: it took about two minutes to download the software to my Mac, and even less time to download the bulletin.
Like any PDF file, I can adjust the size of the text, or I may print it out. I look forward to reading it at my leisure.
I would recommend this to any member who is not wedded to the idea of a 'bound' copy.
I also liked being able to pay the membership fee by Paypal, as I am used to that from e-bay"
If you are a member of the Tewkesbury Historical Society, please remember to include your membership number in your order.

For non-PayPal purchases, email John Dixon, write to him or telephone him on 01684 294262 (Please allow for time difference if you telephone from aboard! 44 1684 294262). We will be automatically notified if you use PayPal to purchase, so no need to contact John.
John Dixon's address: 5 Stokes Court, Oldbury Road, Tewkesbury, GL20 5JL, United Kingdom.
Please note that the option to purchase Historical Briefing Documents (HBD) on CD Rom rather than a paper copy is also available.
(The Hop Pole HBD is only available on CD and is in Powerpoint/PDF format).
